George Goddard

George Goddard 1965On January 18, 1988, George “Sonny” Goddard passes away, leaving behind a widow, four sons, and a daughter. His funeral was attended by judges, members of parliament, educators, trade unionists, Carnival bandleaders, calypso legends, and steelband members.

George Goddard, one of the early leaders of the Steelband Association, was awarded the Trinidad  & Tobago Humming Bird Medal Gold posthumously for his contribution to the development of the steelband.
